| About | Web interface powered by AI according to work patterns. A Short-term project, and I tried to focus on more applying concepts of cognition rather than how to visualizing it. |
##### My approach was that everyday PCs not changed yet nevertheless AI becomes more integrated into our daily lives.
One day, I found my PC interface was cluttered with tons of images and files. Even though AI is increasingly integrating into our daily lives, I still find myself searching through disorganized folders and switching between more than ten open browser tabs when working.
With this observations, I examined PC usage patterns at beginning. I targeted users who rely heavily on PCs for their work and collected their pc interfaces screenshots.
> I colleted and analyzed screen shots to identify different individual differences in PC usage patterns.

> There is a mix of frequently used and less frequently used application. Despite the fact that items used daily and those with shorter usage cycles are placed side by side, I hadn’t realized it.
>Although there are slight differences depending on the job position and individual, certain apps are placed at the bottom, and folders and files are mixed together on PC. Additionally, they were working by switching between multiple screens as needed.
## Survey
I conducted in-depth interviews with professionals from different job fields to understand their PC usage habits and behavior patterns. What I found is that PC usage habits and behavior patterns vary and continue to change over time.
##### The list of how they work.
- Answering and sending email
- Communicaiing with co-workers
- Check my calendar
- Transfer another application
- Check notifications
- Having business meeting
- Searching document
- Browsing webs
- Using interactive AI
- Organizing files
....
During work, multiple tasks are handled simultaneously, and applications are switched between according to the purpose. Multitasking is continuously carried out, which can lead to a dispersion of attention and focus. Additionally, **==various factors can disrupt thei concentration, and it takes an average of about 25 minutes to regain focus.==**
This is a common issue we all experience in our daily lives. I began to consider how we could create an environment that helps maintain focus and prevents attention from being scattered. This led me to the idea of applying the concept of a ==**interactive interfaces to work patterns and changing cognition.**== It refers to an interface where the interaction between the user and the system flows seamlessly and naturally. ==**Through this, users can switch between tasks flexibly without disrupting their workflow. This approach can minimize distractions and provide an environment that enhances concentration.**==
##### Three stages based on changes of cognition.
The factors influence people's cognition:
Emotion state, Â intensity of work, repetitive task, rest etc
Keep changing cognition during work:
- Initial focus
- Mid-stage fatigue and distraction
- Recharging after rest
- Tension and focus as the deadline approaches
- Satisfaction at the completion of work
When working, cognition is divided into three stages based on the difficulty of the task and the presence of creativity:
- Preparation stage
- Concentraion stage
- Completion stage

>**Preparation stage**
>Increase efficiency by reducing the time spent on repetitive tasks.
>**Concentration stage**
> Easy to find a lot of information, but it would be helpful if the **scattered information could be organized** and remembered in one place.
>**Completion stage**
>Want to clean up unnecessary data, but it feels overwhelming. It would be great if the files were well-organized into folders.
## key features
Ideas reflecting different pain points based on changes in behavior and cognition:
- **Creating a flexible interface to reduce attention fragmentation caused by multi-browser switching.**
- Preparation stage: Displays notifications from messengers, email, and to-do lists in one place, allowing users to respond directly through a interface without switching between applications.
- Concentration stage: While users explore materials online, they can easily save important resources through the flexible interface. The system organizes collected materials based on similar content, and provides reminders to support memory and recall.
- Completion stage: Automatically cleans up files that have not been used for a specified period of time.

- **Displaying applications according to usage frequency.
- High-frequency apps remain visible for quick access, while low-priority apps are deferred to an invisible queue to reduce visual clutter.
-

## Wire frame
#### Preparation stage

>1. Visible area that only displays work tools based on the user's work patterns.
> Low-priority apps remain hidden and are revealed when users scroll down.
>2. Chat served as communication channel with AI for multi function interaction.
> **Notification**Â
> 1. Notification list which mentioned.
> 2. You can communicate directly by dragging and dropping into the Chat without needing to switch to each app.
#### Concentration stage

> **Do not disturb mode**
> 1. By activating Focus Mode, you can increase work efficiency by blocking out distractions unrelated to your main tasks. The user can choose to turn urgent notifications ON/OFF. Since it's difficult for AI to determine the urgency, a method for the other party to indicate urgency while Do Not Disturb mode is on.
> 2. Set up the tasks need to do and freely use the widgets.
>**Save materials**
>1. It helps you easily gather information by simply dragging while exploring. Additionally, it prevents the collected information from being scattered.
>2. Save the materials to my memo.
> **My memo**
> Similar information is categorized, and a folder is created to organize it. Additionally, when I ask a question to the chatbot, it retrieves and shows any useful information stored in my notes, helping me recall the information I've saved.
>**Save materials**
>1. If there are some works to save, click "+" button on the chat then you can capture it by drag.
>2. The description made automatically based on my project data and you can save it.
> **Work History**
> 1. The project that added description and you can edit freely.
> 2. Users can also set the list to public to receive feedback from other coworkers, helping everyone better understand each other's work and make it easier to shard information.
> 3. Open the flexible interface on the purpose.

#### Completion stage

>**File organize**
>At the final stage of work, if the user wants to organize files, it optimizes the PC environment by searching for and selecting files that haven't been used for a specific period. This way, you no longer have to deal with cluttered folders and files.

This project was short-term project carried out during my master's studying, and it need to be more develop, It would be an exciting project to work on if we were to embark on an AI-powered OS project, starting with more detailed opportunities.
